Savored

Savored (acquired by, and now folded into Groupon) was a restaurant reservation startup with a focus on providing an easy yield management solution for restaurants. Diners could come on Savored.com and book a reservation at one of our hundreds of restaurants. Depending on when they wanted to eat there would be different discounts offered on the entire check.

At Savored I led the daily standup for a team of six, moved the team from two week sprints using XP development and Fogbugz to a Kanban style development board with a focus on one week sprints using Trello. I worked with internal stakeholders and the development team to uncover technical roadblocks, surface product requirements, and maintain requirements.

I also led the product development of our consumer and merchant-facing B2B iPhone and Android apps that have reached the top 15 of the Food & Drink category in the iTunes App Store, have been featured on Complex Magazine's Best 50 Apps of 2012, Business Insider's Best Restaurant Apps, and Good Housekeeping's Favorite Apps of 2012. The apps have been downloaded more than 100,000 times.

Savored has now been completely folded into Groupon's restaurant product and specifically their restaurant reservation widget, but it was a great product to work on with a fantastic team.

This is video we made about the Savored app for restaurants. It was called Savored Concierge. It was a rating and tracking tool to help restaurants know who their best diners are and track all their Savored reservations in one place.
